About the Conference
The 41st Narrative Conference brings together researchers, scholars, and students from around the world who share an interest in the study of narrative. This annual event, organized by the International Society for the Study of Narrative (ISSN), has been held in various locations globally since 1986.
The 2026 edition is hosted by the Narrative Research Lab & the Centre for Fictionality Studies at Aarhus University.

More Conference Information
The conference invites proposals on all aspects of narrative: genre, medium, period, discipline, and language.
- Individual papers: Title + 300-word abstract; name, affiliation, email; 2–3 keywords; and a short (≤ 100 words) statement about your work and publications.
- Panels: 700-word description of the session, plus individual descriptions of each paper (title, keywords, contributor info).
- Other formats: Roundtables and alternative session formats are welcome.
- Papers may be presented on-site or online — please indicate your preference.
- Deadline for proposals: 1 December 2025.
