Matthew works on 20th- and 21st-century Anglo-American fiction, film and television studies, and narrative theory. His dissertation project explores stylistic innovations characteristic of Anglo-American literary fiction written during the period of 1995 to the present vis-a-vis the evolving media environments in which these literary texts originate and to which they respond. He is a previous recipient of the University’s Sheldon Sacks Award for best paper in narrative studies and formerly served as assistant to the editor of Narrative. He currently serves as administrative associate for the International James Joyce Foundation.
