Brian McAllister

PhD Candidate, English
Graduate Students

Focusing on the intersections between spatial theory and narrative theory, Brian's dissertation investigates late-20th century Scottish and Irish texts that challenge traditional modes of representational and textual space. In light of their historical and political contexts, Brian identifies the ways that these "extreme" literary spaces establish alternative methods for conceptualizing nation and national identity.

Brian previously served as assistant to the editor for Narrative and as the graduate assistant for Project Narrative.
