Received the 1993-94 Ameritech Fellowship of The Ohio State University. Also awarded the 1999 OSU Alumni Award for Distinguished Teaching. Author of Writing Inventions: Identities, Pedagogies, Technologies (winner of the Computers and Composition Distinguished Book Award) and co-editor of Contexts, Intertexts, and Hypertexts. Director of the BETHA Institute for Writing and Digital Media Studies. Co-director (with Cindy Selfe) of the Digital Media and Composition (DMAC) institute.
