On Tuesday, November 10th, Project Narrative hosted a virtual lecture by Professor Leigh Gilmore. A former OSU faculty member, Professor Gilmore, a leading expert on life writing and witness narratives, discussed the political and philosophical origins of the #MeToo movement; the importance of recognizing the frequently erased contributions of Black feminist activists to that movement; and how such documents as the transcript of Donald Trump’s violent Access Hollywood remarks can be productively analyzed in order to better understand how cultures of sexual harassment and abuse are perpetuated. Project Narrative welcomed attendees from several departments at Ohio State, as well as from universities and institutions across the country.
