From the Heart, by the Throat: Towards the Affective Aesthetics of Narrative

Project Narrative is excited to announce another excellent Visiting Scholar lecture. On Tuesday, Nov. 19, Tero Vanhanen will give his presentation from 3-4:30 p.m. in Denney 311.  In his talk, “From the Heart, by the Throat: Towards the Affective Aesthetics of Narrative,” Vanhanen explores and synthesizes multiple methods of theorizing our emotional responses to stories, arguing for a more robust study of what he terms the “affective aesthetics” of reading narrative.
