In his talk, "Playing by Heart: Using Shakespeare, Science and Ensemble to Engage Two Communities," McClatchy will focus on a discussion of the origins, collaborations, research and future of the groundbreaking Shakespeare and Autism Project at The Ohio State University as well as Ohio State's Shakespeare and Veterans initiative. The Shakespeare and Autism Project — a collaboration between the Department of Theatre and the Nisonger Center — uses Shakespeare-based drama games to address the social and communicative challenges for children with autism.
