On Friday, January 27, 2017, Project Narrative and the Disability Studies Program will host their inaugural symposium: "A ColLABoratory: Medicine, Narrative, Disability and Rhetoric." The goal of the ColLABoratory is to facilitate discourse between scholars, professionals and activists who may not otherwise have the opportunity for critical exchange. We anticipate discussions not only of the four subjects named in the ColLABoratory’s title, but also of bioethics, feminist science studies, narrative theory, rehabilitation science, disability activism, adaptive design and more. This symposium will be highly-interactive and provide attendees with opportunities to discuss their own work, identify key questions for future research and listen to keynote speakers and Ignite-style presentations hosted by nationally renowned leaders in the fields of medicine, narrative, disability studies and rhetoric. The ColLABoratory is free and open to the public and will take place on Friday, January 27, 2017, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; however, attendees are welcome to arrive and leave as needed. The event will take place in the 18th Avenue Library Research Commons on Ohio State’s Columbus campus. This venue is wheels-accessible and is lit by fluorescent light. The event will be captioned. Attendees are asked not to wear fragranced products.  Space is limited, so attendees are encouraged to RSVP early by emailing Rebecca Hudgins (hudgins.18@osu.edu). As part of their message, attendees are also asked to specify which hours they will attend, whether they would like lunch provided and if they have any dietary restrictions.  Please direct all questions, including those about access needs, to Dr. Margaret Price (price.1225@osu.edu).  Research Commons (in the 18th Avenue Library) America/New_York public
