Chadwick Allen (Ph.D. University of Arizona) is Associate Professor in the Department of English and, in 2009-2010, Coordinator for the American Indian Studies Program. His areas of interest are comparative Indigenous literary studies; American Indian and New Zealand Maori literatures and cultures; postcolonial literatures and theory; and frontier studies and the popular western. He has published articles on postcolonial theory, the discourse of treaties, Indigenous aesthetics, and the popular western figure The Lone Ranger. His book is entitled Blood Narrative: Indigenous Identity in American Indian and Maori Literary and Activist Texts (Duke University Press, 2002).
