Information for Potential Visiting Scholars

Although Project Narrative cannot provide any financial support for visiting student researchers or postdoctoral scholars, we do have office space that can accommodate up to two self-funded visitors at a given time. Visitors have library privileges and access to computing facilities, and they are also free to sit in on classes taught by Project Narrative faculty, attend lectures, and participate in a number of other scholarly events.

Those interested in working at Ohio State University as visiting researchers (under the auspices of Project Narrative) should send the following materials by November 15 of the year before they would like to begin their visit:
  • A writing sample (scholarly essay)
  • A letter of recommendation from an advisor or supervisor
  • A one-page description of the research to be conducted during the period of the visit
Since we currently have a full complement of visitors through Summer 2010, the next available slots are for the period between Autumn 2010 and Summer 2011. Applicants interested in visiting for any duration during this period, should e-mail their materials by November 15, 2009 to the Project Narrative team members (Jim Phelan, Frederick Aldama, David Herman, Brian McHale, and Robyn Warhol-Down). We will notify the applicants by December 15.
